Well simply as the title States. What do u veteran players say, or are things I or any new player need to do in order to hit that magic number 34 item lvl? I recently started playing 3 weeks ago, coming from PC. It was a hard adjustment, it still is. But I really got lost in this game when I hit level 24, and basically had a wtf am I supposed to do now moment. (kinda like wow when u hit max level) just looking for some insight.

Thx

Well we are all here to help so my suggestion would be to experience the VoG and Crota Raids and get some gear from each. That should put you to level 30-31 at least and from there on you can be ran through with clan members into house of wolves dlc for the gear that will get you to 34

Vanguard/crucibl marks are a must....get into raid groups. Strikes help....make sure your grinding bounties and get an exotic right away from zur.

Good advice here. I'd like to reiterate how important bounties are. By far, one of the easiest and fastest ways to level all the new gear you'll be getting is to do your daily vanguard and/or crucible bounties. By doing these, you'll also be earning vanguard and crucible marks to buy legendary faction gear. If possible, run the weekly nightfall on Tuesdays weekly reset as it will grant you an XP bonus all week (until next reset) that applies to everything you do.

Appreciate the feedback, well I guess I need to be a bit more clear. I hit 32 this past weekend. And got into the grinding, and raids and what not seem so far far away. Lol I finally did a weekly strike last night after the little pvp we as a group did. Slowly but surely.

Thx again

Oh if you are already 32 then great the only thing left to do would be to either gather trials gear or PoE gear OR use any esthetic light you have on any other gear and u will be 34

Crucible bounties I believe give you the highest rep(I believe all the vanguard ones I have done only give me 50), always do the highest level story, if you have at least one high level character, what I did was give all the engrams from my higher level to my lower levels the second my lower level could get all the good stuff (level 20 and above) my light level skyrocketed

Run vanguard strikes. Knock out bounties. Play crucible. Get on the line app and ask if anyone can run you through vault of glass and nightfall strike. Once you get passed 30 try and get some of the clan to run ya through Crota. Run prison of elders 28. The small chests usually give ya strange coins. Use them on the weekends and buy gear from xur. Dont get frustrated the first character is hardest.

Hey bud. My rule for gearing is once you hit 20 you choose between pvp and pve. I just did pvp on my hunter and it took me about 4 days to get a full set of legendary gear to get to lvl 32. After that hop into raids with us and do POE. The first time you do POE you get an exotic so that would be a great place to start. Also every week poe changes its reward and when you do 32 poe is the highest light level armor. You can reach lvl 34 with just 3 pieces of that armor and an exotic.

I'll give you my method I used when I leveled up new characters. Make sure you finish lots of bounties, grind Strike playlists for your levels, do crucible, get crucible and vangaurd ranks to rank 2, SAVE YOUR MARKS, hopefully by the time you reach rank 2 in both vangaurd and crucible you will have found some legendaries, go to the vendors and buy gear. Buy boot legendaries first. If you're a warlock there are no exotic boots, and the other classes they are the rarest exotics. Then If you can I would wait for xur to come and if you have 13 strange coins you can buy the class exotic he has for sale for the week. Don't worry about whether or not that exotic is good just buy it, strange coins are super easy to get at higher levels. Then buy the legendaries you need from the vendors. keep in mind that Helmets are the hardest legendaries to get in most endgame activities like raids, so if you don't have an exotic helm it helps to fill that slot with a legendary second, after you get boots. They are also the most expensive, as they cost 125 marks. Ask for help, and have fun. Grinding for light level, can be the most trying part of this game if you can find a buddy to join you in the grind it can make it 10x more enjoyable! Good Luck Guardians!
